How to Convert Time Zones Correctly
Every timezone is defined relative to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). UTC never observes Daylight Saving Time and never changes. Our converter uses the IANA timezone database to automatically account for DST transitions.
The primary complication in timezone conversion is Daylight Saving Time (DST). The US shifts on the second Sunday of March, while the EU shifts on the last Sunday of March, briefly creating unusual offsets between those dates. Always verify the date, not just the time, when scheduling across large timezone differences.
